Continued Issue with Dryer

After reading the latest review regarding problems with this dryer, we felt like we were reading our story. We are on our second dryer, and it is not in any better shape than the first (mounted on a pedastal). The first dryer went out in less than a week, after 5 medium sized loads. The dryer began to make a loud rattling noise after approximately 10 minutes into the dry cycle, and eventually the bearings went out (drum stopped spinning) on the last load. The second dryer began quietly, followed by a humming noise, which turned into a loud rattling noise during the first load! We were worried about the washer, and it works great. I will be scheduling a service call versus asking for a new unit, since this appears to be the norm with this dryer, and the second delivery was an unpleasant experience (installers dented top of washer when installing the dryer). Kenmore has been our appliance name of choice for many years; we are rethinking about this and future purchases.

Very disappointed

|

Like other reviews we had the loud noises of the dryer a week after we bought the set. After 2service calls the was fixed. Less than two years later, trouble again. It gets too hot & has the code "call svc" . We called Sears service and were told someone would call within 24 hours to schedule service. After 2wks and several calls Sears service told us that there was no service in our area and we should "google dryer repair service " Really sears? If that's the case then why have a store in our area. So disappointed! Kenmore has been a trusted brand in our home, but not anymore!

love soft heat button

|

My clothes are so soft when I use the soft heat option I give have to give this five stars. The cycles are quick for the washer and dryer, but fur the washer they can be made quicker with time manager button. Also note that If you turn the dryer on and hit start, it defaults to normal. You don't have to select a cycle every time. I sell appliances at Sears but bought this one because of it's large capacity and because my washer is on the right and youn switch the washer door for that (as well as the dryer door of course). Washer is great too. This and the washer both come with their own special hoses for regular washing and for steam in the dryer. You don't need to buy them.

Disappointed

|

We bought the washer and dryer a little less than two years ago. Washer is great. Love the steam feature on the dryer. However, there is a HUGE defect with the dryer vent. It has a tendency to rise up during a cycle, catch tags and any straps. This not only can ruin clothes but turns a load of laundry into a huge twisted mess! I hope this has been corrected in the newer models. I contacted Sears but received no help. This is the first time I have been so dissatisfied with a product and have written a negative review. Wish I had my old top loading kenmore dryer.

Loud, Noisy, Rattles

|

We have had it one week. We bought the set. Love the washer. The dryer, not so much. I don't know whether to call a service tech out or just wait and see. It is loud, it rattles, and it "surges". It is drying my clothes so I don't know if this is normal sounds for this dryer or if something is wrong. Paid a lot of money for this and the motor just does not sound right.

Dryer

I love the steam setting, it is great for touching up some wrinkled laundry. The only thing I don't like is that you need to select a setting every time you turn the machine on, The color is rich. Looks great in my laundry room.
