Great Stove

I have only owned this stove for a few weeks now but, I find it better than any other so far.Cleaning is easier than I expected. I used to own a glass cooktop and I loved the ease of cleaning. This one has the same glass cooktop but, with burners. I wish one of the higher rated burners was in the back it would be better for large pots.Tempatures seem to be very accurate. The oven cooks great.I've baked bread, cookies, pies, chicken and roasts and everything came out wonderfully. The oven is so large I can bake dishes side by side and with the convection cooking, even on multiple levels at the same time. Now I don't really need the extra expense of a second oven.

RIDICULOUS $5,000 HEADACHE!!!!

Ive had this oven for exactly 13 months. It worked great for about six... First off - for a range costing this much, you MUST deliver on quality. This one falls woefully short. I can't use the oven! It continually beeps, re-heats (when not necessary), then turns off with an error message. It does this the whole time - extraordinarily frustrating! It no longer cools off with the fan. It is now WAY louder when it is heating up than it was out of the box... and it was loud then too! The outside of the range itself gets much hotter than it should while cooking. We'll see what the service tech has to say when he gets here, but by and large I wished I'd spent the extra money and gotten a better quality product. Bottom line, don't buy this unless you're doing a kitchen design photo shoot - because that's all this thing is good for... its good looks!

Great Idea, Poor Execution

Purchased this range for a new home we built. Part of a complete set of Sears high-end appliances. This is a great range...however, manufacturing quality issues have been very annoying. In less than two months, have had to schedule 2 service calls for silly things that should have been caught during manufacturing. The oven fan came without the cap nut to hold it in place...worked fine for several weeks, then finally came off the hub and started an awful rattle. Had to disassemble the oven and put it back on...called service to order the part. Sears needs to ensure the manufacturers they purchase from have better quality control. This is supposedly an Electrolux built range...I would expect better out of the box.

Great Stove

Owned this stove for almost 2 years. I bought it during a black friday sale (well worth buying on key sale dates... saved a lot).Overall, I love this stove and clearly think it was the right decision over buying a viking. This is a better value. This stove gives a professional look and has some cooking features that are not found elsewhere. I love the bridge burner and large oven capacity. I also like the star shaped burners.I think the only place that the more expensive stoves would excelled better at is the low temp. cooking. However, this stove offers a simmer plate that works fairly well. Also just a note on the installation. Make sure you read the owners manual. There is a tight space requirement as to where you electrical and gas must be. The sears manage my account was very helpful in addressing my questions about this.Overall, I think this stove is a ******** and a solid choice for those of us that aspire to be better chef's, but are not quite professio

Kenmore Pro range 7962

I bought this range on clearance when shopping for a stainless upgrade. Little did I know at the time, how much I would love it. It is amazing. Three years later I still love it. It cooks beautifully. I like that it is a 36 inch and you don't need the larger space that other models require. If I had to complain, it would be that I wish it had 2 large burners instead of 1. The convection is terrific. Plenty of room on top and inside. Great racks. It is a pro. I'm hooked on the line now.

works great, more than enough romm for lots of iems.

I love this oven, I found it on clearance at my Sears store(it was the floor model)...it cost more than I was planning on, but it is the oven of my dreams!!! I just never thought I could justify owning one this pricey.  But I have to say, you do get what you pay for.  The fan is audible when the convection is in use, but only heard in the kitchen.  I was the other reviews that say the oven is really loud, but not mine....maybe it has something to do with where/how it was installed.  In short, I love my oven & it will most likely be the last oven I ever buy......

36" Pro

I love the look of this range. I have owned this range for nearly a year and find it extremely frustrating. Immediately after turning the range on it begins to vibrate and makes a loud noise which is extremely annoying. When the oven door is opened the noise gets louder. I have had service on the range 3 times without a remidy to the problem. Once the oven is turned off the fan stays on for almost 2 hours and continues to vibrate. When using the oven the kitchen definitely isn't a family friendly environment, because there is too much noise to carry on any type of conversation. For a range of this price, it is a total disappointment. I would steer away from this range.

Can you give something less than one star?

I've had this oven for just over a year.  I wouldn't care how much noise it made, if it would only cook.  It worked well for a couple of months.  Then it started to stop and start and give error messages.  Then it started smelling like burned rubber. Now it totally stopped working.  No lights, no heat, no nothing.

Moreover, one of the knobs on the range has kind of melted.

I too wanted to buy a gourmet oven but couldn't quite afford it.  Wished I had spent more, or bought less.  This compromise is a disaster.  DON'T BUY THIS RANGE.

It's an expensive jalopy

We've had this stove/range installed for about a month.    3 Service calls later and I still have to call again.   I do not love it.

Another reviewer wrote the same thing - it's loud.   I am an avid cook, baker etc.   I used to use my old convection oven all the time, no problem.   This one - makes my house shake and sounds like a piece of junk.   The metal backsplash rattles until I grab it and pull it.   (seriously)   I actually hate using the oven when i have guests b/c I have to shout over the noise of the thing.  Embarrassing.

The range burners took a lot of adjusting from the gas company. And even the phlanges (no idea if that is what they are called, they look like small brass bolts w/ threads on one end)   the gas company said one of the burners had the completely wrong size installed.

One of the repair guys that came, said he's worked on these non-stop since they were introduced b/c they have had so many problems.

Great.   What am I supposed to do now, super big bucks - and I am SO unhappy.

The rattles are very loud when the Convection Oven is on

My wife loves her range. It cooks great and the assortment of burners is very nice. She is a gourmet cook and makes many different dishes on her stove. My only complaint is when the Convection Oven Fan is on, the rear of the stove has very loose fitting sheet metal. I'm not sure if it is stainless but nevertheless it rattles very loud. You would think Whirlpool would have designed a stove back with rigid supports like you have in the basement heating duckwork? For almost $6000 I cannot believe that this thing makes so much noise. My wife doesn't mind it but when she has the oven on, I go into the garage!!!! My man cave is nice and quiet...........Come on Sears, fix this thing.....I really doubt if anyone from Sears reads our comments but just in case....

The Kenmore Pro Dual Fuel Range is very loud

We've had our range for 5 weeks. the cooktop works great, but the oven is unbearable. I have the tv on in the living room and my husband talking on the phone next to me and I can still hear the oven cooling in the kitchen. I've had a tech to the house 3 times to "repair" it. The last time they were here, I was told that this noise is normal. I've gone to culinary school and worked in multiple kitchens. I have NEVER experienced an oven this loud. Not quite sure what to do at this point. Also, the knobs turn so easily, just a little bump changes the temp in the oven/on the stove-top. If you don't notice that your shirt adjusted it, you'll ruin your food. Not quite sure what to do at this point?? Spend a couple extra thousand bucks and get a range that actually works. It'll be worth it.

Kenmore Pro 36 in Dual Fuel Range

We live on an Island and have limited technical support available locally. That is why we bought this brand because we do have a local Sears and bought their extended warranty. We are glad we did because one of our burners did not fire correctly from the very start. Fortunately, we were able to get it replaced. We have not tried the oven yet. The triple burner is very good but we wish we had more choices with the remaining burners.
