Kitchen Aid customer service disappointing

I waited a month to get this micorwave/convection. Looks great - just doesn't work. After putting it in, everything lights up, everything turns, but nothing gets hot. Then I call Kitchen Aid to get a replacement. They don't do replacements! You have to take a day off from work so a technician can come between 8am and 5pm. You can sit there all day because they will call you a 1/2 hour before they get there. So besides paying $999.00 for a microwave convection that doesn/t work from day 1 - you need to give a day up of your time. WHAT A BARGAIN!

Very Poor Quality

|

I purchased this four years ago. We had it replaced two times and now it's gone out again. This is a real lemon.

poor product

|

Magnetron went out at eight months----warranty covered replacement.
Four years later, it appears magnetron out again. Convection portion still works o.k., but no microwave heating. Called my repairman, told him the problem, and he said the repairs would cost me well over $300. He advised that I buy a new unit rather than repair this one.The microwave did fine while working, but for a unit in the $900-$1000 range the quality should be much better. Do NOT buy!

Can't be fixed

|

After 3.5 yrs, this very expensive unit just quit working. KitchenAid repairman says it cannot be fixed. It is 'toast'. KitchenAid customer service says sorry, nothing they can do. I won't be buying a Whirlpool/Maytag/KitchenAid product again.

AWESOME MACHINE !!!

|

I bought this as a Gift for my Dad. It truly is an Awesome microwave convection device. Or as my Dad calls it--an other Computer !!! It is SOOO advanced, yet remarkably easy to use.
Now I really was Disappointed that the 36 page REAL User Manual was not included with this product. I had to go to the KitchenAid web site's product details--and Still the user guide was not where it should be. I Finally went to the KitchenAid Support page and did a Search for this KitchenAid Model and Voila Found the User Manual ! This is Essential if you want to learn how to do convection cooking et al Awesome product !!! I also purchased the 5 Five year in Home Master Protection Warranty which was reasonably priced.

KitchenAid Microhood/Convection Oven quit at 14 months

|

Display went blank and had to be replaced, the day the tech was coming out to install the new board the magnatron went out also. So at 14 mo old completely gone. When it worked, it was a great Microwave not so much in the convection department. Don't waste your money.

brokedown in year 4

|

I loved this microwave...it was beautiful, smart, cooked great. Then is completely shut down in year 4. I paid to have a warranty part replaced (the touch control) and another part. It worked for 5 hours and completely shut down again. Apparently their were burn marks on the wave guide which is not repairable. It has to be completely replaced.

kitchenaid convect micro hood has cheap plastic handle

|

less than three years old and the handle that I was told was stainless steel is actually plastic. Imagine finding that out when the paint flakes off and has gotten much worse in the past month. I have never used more than dishsoap and water to clean. they refuse to do anything about it... My 30 year old Quasar convection microwave works and looks better.

Kitchen Aid Microhood/Convection

|

STAY AWAY! Friends and reviews led me to purchase this appliance for our newly built home. We purchased all Kitchenaid appliances. This microwave looks great and has great features. Problem, we had a $325 repair when it was close to three years old. And now 6 months later the main board has gone out. Within only months after installed we experieinced probolems with the control panel. It is too bad this great looking appliance is nothing but junk. Even our repairman said this particular mircowave has constant problems.

A little Disappointed

|

I have had the microwave for about a year. It looks great and works perfect as a microwave and food defroster. I am a little disappointed in the convection part. It takes a long time to preheat and the cool down fan (yes its loud) stays on a long time after you use the convection. I ended up buying a $200 countertop convection oven after I tried to bake some frozen biscuits in it. They turned out ok but it took 25 minutes. In the countertop oven they are done in 12 minutes and are perfect. If I had to do it over again I would buy this model in microwave only.

turntable device

|

I purchased the kitchen aid micro wave convection on November of 2007 and it has the state of the art look .It cooks to perfection. it steams and to grill a steak it is perfect. My problem is the piece that turns the turntable which is a metal device it melts and then I am no longer able to use the micro wave without the turntable. This product has happened twice andeach time they have orderd a new one and it melts. Also there is a hairline crack that I had not noticed because it is at the top and I am short and missed it. This should be a recall. otherwise I love the way it bakes, broils and steams.
