As a Sears Electronics's associate, Im around a lot of different sound-bars and sound systems, and I must say for sound bars this is one of the best. Its not made for huge large rooms, but it does a job for smaller rooms and apartments. I highly recommend it, and the blue tooth technology works perfect. It's very easy to connect my ipod and android phone and play music through it. Since it does use a fiber optics cable, and not hdmi like others, you do have to use the remote provided.
For people who are unsure about sound-bars, some use HDMI (ARC) and others use fiber optics, go with the fiber optics. People who buy the HDMI have more issues trying to sync it together. But I do love the sound of this system, and when it goes on sale, its a good buy.
The LG Soundbar is easy to set up and works great. The soundbar is 2.1 channel with a WIRELESS subwoofer! Love the wireless subwoofer. The sound quality is good but not real surround sound although very close.
I didn't have any expectations of having real surround sound with this product. I knew that I would first have to get the best audio from my flat screen T.V. Then I had to try different settings on the sound bar and mix the two together to get the best audio output. I especially enjoy watching sports with the volume a little higher than when I watch movies. With the right audio mix from both the sound bar and my T.V., I sometimes will get as close to surround sound with some audio wrapping around the room. You have to try different mixes of audio settings. For movies I have my T.V. set at "Virtual Surround", the volume at 14 and my sound bar at "Virtual" set at 9. This sets the subwoofer just high enough to get a nice feel, especially for action type movies. for sports I reset the sound bar at "Game" at between 10-12. Depending on how many people are in the room. This gives a great game atmosphere and still be able to have conversations during games. I bought this product knowing that it was not a tue surround sound system and because I did not want to have to do any type of in the wall wiring. for My needs this was the perfect product. The installation was very easy for a DIYer. It looks like it belong to My 60inch T.V.
Really great sound. Easy to install - I used the wall mount to attach to the front edge of a shelf. Only 2 optical audio inputs, so if you have more devices, you will need a switch.
This is a truly fine sound system for the money, and it was quite easy to set up. However, I'm astounded that LG would make such a fine product and then plaster a label on the front that left a glue residue that took twenty minutes of effort and a lot of Goo Gone to remove. And I'm dumbfounded that I now have an all-LG system--TV, Blu-Ray player, and this sound bar--yet need two remotes in order to operate all of it! I'd still recommend it to others hoping that maybe the gooey label and the remote problem might just get resolved sooner rather than later.
The LSB316 requires it's own remote controller. The LG TV or Blueray remotes cannot connect to the sound system. So if you want to watch something using the sound system you need one remote to control channel or the blueray and the sound remote to control the sound bar. Also unlike the other LG devices the sound bar does not shut off when not in use. I specifically bought everything LG so I could ditch the multiple remote controllers. What a disappointment.

Pleased with this sound bar.Was a little hard to get my att u-verse remote to work the volume but finily got it.(att code is 955) Only other thing we have noticed is the sound cuts out between a show & a commercial just for an instant.Works fine with our LG LK520 47" tv.
Read all the reviews of this and other similar products. For the money and ease of use seemed like the best bet. I have had it several weeks now and it does fit the bill. At times it does seem to provide a surround sound type effect. At all times have been happy with the true to life sound that this system provides.
Own. Extremely simple and easy to connect to the TV and setup! Great features and options, that work quite well and make listening a pleasure. I am very satisfied with this purchase and definately recommend this product.
Very simple to install. The wall mount template was nice to have so that i could make the hole in the right spot without the guess work. Sound quality was better than expected considering the price. It really fit perfectly with my 42" LED LG tv. It really delivers the high and low frequencies that the television speakers just can't deliver. Great buy.
Easy to install Very good sound for the price. Works very well when a multi speaker system is not is not an option. USB connections works very well with an MP3 player.
We are really pleased with the soundbar. A 7.1 system was not practical for our living room. The LSB316 really fit our needs for better sound!
I have owned 3 LG TV's and have considered them to be excellent. The LSB316 soundbar does not fall into the same catagory. The sound from the bar has a tinny sound to it that none of settings seem to correct, and the subwoofer does not add any bass that is notable even at the max volume of the subwoofer. The performance of this system is not what I have come to expect from LG.
Although I did not set the system up, it was quite easy. The system adds real depth and flexibility to the overall LG TV viewing experience.
Good sound and fits under an LG tv with the stand. Others would cover the remote sensor when placed in front of the tv. I would have preferred that the LG tv remote operate the power and volume of the soundbar. I don't like using two remotes to watch tv.
