This was my first attempt at frying a turkey and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I figured if it was gonna be worth it I would get a better unit down the line. After I used the Masterbuilt I am hooked. First I will never bake another turkey. Second I had heard so many nightmare stories about turkey fryers I was afraid. I did my YOUTUBE research and found a bunch of safety videos.(Watched some of the fires too!) I followed the directions to keep it away from anything that could burn and I made sure to turn it off before I lowered the turkey into the grease. My bird came out so delicious my kids thought it was chicken breast. And don't forget to get yourself a good injector so you can make your own flavors. I used Teriyaki and when I say delicious... Long story short I fried a 14 lb Turkey and there was nothing but bones left on the table. This unit works great and for the money its worth its weight in Turkey.
I bought this for Thanksgiving day. Let me just say it tasted great cooking it in here. The only problem was it continued to turn off. We had to relight it repeatedly. We thought maybe it was too windy so we put it in an enclosed detached room. It still continued to turn off and you would have to keep checking on it every minute to make sure it was still lit.
The pan is cheap! Cheap Cheap Cheap. It works but the pan was bent a bit after first turkey. Maybe from the heat. The stands are screwed rather than welded but the dual screws make it sturdy. I recommend this on a hurry purchase but if you have the time and money buy a better one. I like it but I will be buying another this year that has a welded frame and a flat top.
my husband introduced me to fried turkey about 7yrs ago and haven't eaten a baked one again it cooks a half the time meat is moist and crispy outside NOTE DRY OFF MEAT BEFORE LOWERING AND LOWER SLOWLY OR YOU WILL MOST LIKELY START A FIRE!!! This is an excellent price especially if it comes with the burner stand. Tip: use peanut oil if not allergic you'll not need buch of other spices
This 30Qt. fryer works excellent for most sizes of turkeys. Also anything else you want to fry up :). Just be sure you are extremely safe whenever using an open pot fryer like this and cook in a well ventilated area (driveway or patio is best) and have fire safety just in case.

I bought this for Thanksgiving this year after purchasing the North American Saf-T Fryer. Bottom line, this was less expensive and a better product. I couldn't even get the Saf-T Fryer to light, and I followed the directions so it wasn't me. This fryer was easy to assemble, lit the first time I tried and overall worked great! I would definitely recommend this to any first-time user or turkey-frying pro. The only downfall is it was hard to get the oil back up to 350 degrees after putting in the turkey. Next time I'll make sure the turkey is closer to room temperature and fry a smaller turkey. I fried a 16.5 pound bird and would probably go down to 12-14 pounds in the future, but not because the meat was overdone. Great product and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it.
