Description Specifications
Get a Close Cut with This 20 Inch Push Lawn Mower and Enjoy Your Good Looking Garden
McLane has manufactured high-quality, precision-cutting lawn and garden equipment since 1946. The McLane cut path reel mower 20 in builds on that tradition with a powerful reel mower that delivers outstanding results. It's suited for all Bermuda, St. Augustine and other well-maintained turf types. The gas-powered mower has a 4hp engine that requires less effort to operate than a manual reel mower. The Touch-A-Matic clutch controls and easy spin recoil starter make operation safe and effortless.
This 20 inch push lawn mower uses an induction heat-treated armor plate reel and bedknife to give you durable and dependable performance. The reel and bedknife use a shearing action to provide a clean, consistent cut — like a pair of scissors would deliver. The penetrating bedknife deters thatch buildup, helping your lawn breathe better and receive the water and nutrients it needs for strong root growth. As a result, your lawn will look and feel healthy.

Be aware it is 4HP

I just didn't want anyone to think you would get a 5.25HP engine as the previous reviewer thought. I believe Sloppy was mislead by the engine labelling, 5.25 Briggs & Stratton: 5.25 ft-lbs TORQUE. With it being 148cc translates into a 4HP engine.

Not suitable for intricate cutting

This may be a good mower for people with larger lawns and lot of straight line mowing. However, if you have an irregular shaped lawn and need fine trimming around flower beds and other areas this mower is just not suitable for the job. It does not turn easy, is heavy and hard to maneuver. I sold it for a huge loss just to get rid of it.

Bermuda lawn must!

|

This mower is quality and built to last. With all front throw mowers that cut low you have to be careful of rocks, wood chips, and low level lawns/high sidewalks. We had a new house built and the builder planted Bermuda. My old rotary mower couldn't handle the dense grass. After setting up my Mclane it powered through the thick thatch. I did nick the sidewalk and through the alignment off but it only took five minutes to realign. The power with this mower is sufficient for regular yards (10'000) sq ft or less. If you are a pro or have a monster yard I would drop the money on the larger engine. Otherwise a classic, we'll built mower for your Bermuda grass types.

best lawn mower ever!! if.........

|

You are willing to put in the time and effort to have your grass looking like a golf course!! I will admit at first i was not fond of the way it was leaving my grass till I learned how to use it and what goes into maintaining grass at these levels now the compliments do not stop coming!!! I will add these do require yearly maintanance if you want to ensure a clean cut. chance are if you are looking to buy this mower you are not a noob to lawn care.
