Here is a fair review.

The total price of the swing set is $345 including taxes. A common complaint is the cheapness of the wood. The wood is cedar and cedar is a soft wood that is rot resistant and bug resistant. With some additional staining, this swing set should last for awhile. The instructional booklet is a comedy of errors and the writer is a sadist. Some pieces of wood were not included. I had to create a few specialized pieces to complete the tower on the swing set. Not a big deal. I had left over hardware and left over slats. Remember you have paid a thousand dollars less than the upscale amish built ones. And remember it comes in a box. The project time totaled 6 hours by myself. Be prepared to undo what you have done and redo the piece correctly. A power drill with allen wrench bits is essential. Be sure to take the time to seperate the wood pieces. Only one piece in my box was unlabeled. The numbers were stamped on to each piece of board. I am entirely satisfied with the swing set and would recommend it to anyone, Just realize this is a beer budget item. Last but not least, my 3 year old son walked around the swing set for 15 minutes in a gleeful awe before he started to play on it. He looked out the window at several points last night to see if it was still there. Priceless.

Very low quality!

We bought this about a month ago for our 4 children. We just put it up and can already see how poor the quality is. First the directions are a joke! We followed them as best we could but several of the pieces of wood that came predrilled were done incorrectly. We managed to get the swing set up but it is not sturdy at all and its FAR smaller than in the picture. Our older children are both around 80lbs and every time they swing...even if they are alone on the swing set....the entire swing set, clubhouse and all, shifts and lifts off the ground. I am afraid to let them use it because it doesn't seem like it would take long for the entire swing set to fall apart. Someone is going to get hurt. It's great for my 2 year old but I don't even know if he will be able to use it next year. Don't waste your money on this swing set, you will be disappointed.

What a Waste!

Cheap wood, not sturdy. Im afraid that this thing will break everytime my 5yr old starts to swing. I even added extra support spikes and im still not liking this set. If it wasnt so much of a hassle to rip it down and send it back i would have gotten rid of it.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy this swingset.

We purchased this swingset just over a month ago and already the slide has broken on it. My husband said it looked flimsy when it was being installed, but to only last one month is ridiculous. The swingset seemed great at first and the kids loved it, but now I am wondering how long the rest of it will last. The set has lots of bolts and screws and took quite awhile to be installed, so we can't just return it or exchange it. I would not recommend this swingset to anyone given how quickly it has started to fall apart. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money to get something that will last. You'll be a much happier customer than I am.

It is what it is

I was nervous about some of the reviews this swing set got. We moved into a neighborhood on a cul-de-sac with no kids or sidewalks, so we wanted our 6-year-old daughter to have some solo entertainment. She's an only child, smallish (4', 40 lbs) and this swing set is the perfect size for her. My dad and husband got this up for her in 5 hours, although we could have done it in 4 if we'd paid more attention to which direction some of the boards went (pay attention to the holes!!!!) My mom laid out all the lumber in alphabetical and numerical order and I did the same with the hardware. We were getting the materials for the next step while my dad and husband assembled. Things were clearly labeled for the most part, although the numbering system was confusing. It comes in A LOT of pieces. We finally got it up and were happy with the sturdiness. It isn't one of those play sets you see standing in someone's yard long after the kids have left for college. We only need it for a couple of years and I'm sure that's what we'll get out of it. If I had more than two kids, or if I had really rowdy boys who will test the limits of the craftsmanship, I'd go for a higher end product. The swings held my daughter and I at the same time and my 250 lb dad sat on the main platform during part of the assembly. I don't think I'd exceed that. If your kids are small, you plan to upgrade at some point, or you have several kids or a daycare or something, invest in something better. This one wasn't meant to last forever, nor will it stand up to heavy use by multiple older children. Honestly, it's pretty small. It's perfect for us.

Price can't be beat!

I bought this for my 4 year old grandson. I checked on several different swings at different places. This one was the better value. All of the parts were there and only one piece wasn't numbered. I sorted out all the parts before starting to assemble and noticed right away the part that wasn't numbered so I marked the number on it. The review that stated that the little rock climbers on the steps came off, I figured out that problem too. We installed the steps with the rivets facing outward. The plastic rocks were loose. My husband removed them and placed the rivets through the back side and the plastic rocks tightened right up. Over all I think it is a good swing for the price. My grandson loves it.

timber play ll very dissappointing swing set

we purchased this last year for our great grandson who was 3 at the time. really took a long time to put together, one evening and the next morning. it is made so cheap, the wood is so soft and it isn't very sturdy. my great grandson can't hardly swing on it because it rocks so hard and hes afraid. he only weighs 45 pounds and my husband tightened up everything real good. he has even tried to reinforce it but it still isn't sturdy. would advise anyone who is looking for a swing set to look elsewhere for something made of good solid wood that will last.

Read the reviews before you buy!

First, I will get the bad out of the way...this is not CEDAR. It is, in fact-CEDAR STAINED PINE. I suggest you seal the wood before assembly. Have at least 2 adults, and 2 days. Better with 3 adults. The slide that came with it, IS NOT THE SLIDE PICTURED. It barely hit the ground at the bottom when assembled and attached to the upper deck. My 4 year old daughter hits the center bump and she goes airborn on her bottom, crashing to the ground or end of the slide. She is holding the sides to slow down, and can't avoid the situation. Have power tools, as the ones supplied are not all you will need. We had to use a ratchet set, rubber mallet, and would have needed a sledge hammer for the stakes if the ground wasnt as soft as it was-you need these in addition to several other tools. This is not a practically sized option for my 8-year-old. Even though he meets the weight limit, he is far too tall for using ANY of it. Even my 4-year-old barely fits inside the fort area and table/bench area. It arrived a month later than the order initially stated. We received only 2 days before the birthday it was intended for, so no time to assemble before her party.

The good-all parts were there. Nothing was broken or warped. The instructions were useful, and the pictures were easy to follow. All the points lined up, and no pre-drilling was needed. All the wood was smooth. Everything is clearly marked and easy to read/see. Once it is together, it looks very nice and seems sturdy. It was a good deal, pricewise for what you get.

KIDS LOVE IT

This is a very reasonable playset, the kids all love it. Putting it together was interesting, and we had to improvise a lot of the pieces. We had to strengthen the frame and repaint all the wood with water seal.
The wood is very soft and fragile, could use some improvement.

FUN4TWOBOYS

We bought this swing set for our 2 and 3 yr old boys. It is very important to be organized when you start or it could be overwhelming to put together. That said, it took my husband and I 4 hrs to put it together. It is smaller than some sets but I am glad it is. My boys would probably just get hurt on a bigger one when they decide to push the other one off. It's a great price and my boys love it. When we put it together we had no problems until the last step which was the slide. It came in several pieces and when we started looking we had two right sides and no left. My husband took one of the parts to kmart to see if they could help us. They were so nice and helpful. The guy opened another box to exchange the part for us but realized that the slide was a 1 piece slide in the box. So he gave us all the parts needed to switch to the new slide and just had us bring back the other parts. I am so glad we got this set for our kids. They LOVE it!

Not a bad swing set for the price

Yes the wood is cheap and if you are not careful the screws will strip but for the money this good playset. We have 3 boys 7,6,and 3 and they love it. The directions can be a bit confusing and make sure that the holes are aligned properly. If we get 3 to 5 years of play out of it, it was money well spent. My 6 year old said that we now have the coolest backyard in the neighborhood.

got this so that the kids could finally use our backyard..it is NOT what we expected at all..screws stripped way too easy, cant tighten it down anymore either and all the screws allow for the wood to move and sway..im afraid the kids will get hurt on this!!! we will buy brackets for all the angles do help reinforce it..very cheap product for sure...will never buy this brand ever again

Birthday swing set

We purchase the swing set for our 1 year old grandsons birthday. We had a family day with food and drinks to set it up. It took about 5 hours to assembly the swing set following the directions step by step. When finished the 3 grandkids had a lot of fun playing on it. My 1 year old grandson climbed up the stairs all by himself and slid down the slide face first. Over all very please with the swing set.

Plan the day around it, but it's a nice set.

I must have been one of the lucky ones as far as build quality. Everything was in the box and all the holes lined up. That said, I did have to back track a little on several separate occasions. When you're building this, note how far away the holes are from each other in the first few steps to ensure your putting the right pieces in the right spot. If you don't, you may end up having to take half of it apart later on when the holes aren't lining up. It took me about 7 hours doing it myself with a good set of tools and a power drill for the screws. I'm not a professional builder, but I am decent with my hands so I'd say 6-7 hours would be the expected time to get this together. My kids love it. They were very excited about the fact that they now have "a park in their yard" as they say it. It is a little smaller than it looks, but after tax, it was $270.00. You would have a very hard time finding a brand new play set better than this for that price.

Love it!

Did an in store pick up. Easy to build with two guys. Switched one of the swings for a baby swing. Love the climbing wall, sand box, picnic table combo! Recommend this to any parents on a budget with small kids!

Don't waste your money!

This swing set was a great disappointment for me. Upon assembly most of the wood pieces split and the screws they give strip VERY easily. The flexible swings don't hang right and the awning tore and faded the first summer. This set only lasted 3 years before we had to pull it down due to safety issues. The wood is very poor quality, like a cedar stained pine.
