happy with it

I've had this product for 1.5 years now. I assembled it myself (30 year old female with limited tool experience). It took me all evening but it happened. Two words, rubber mallet. There's a slight clunk on the left side but it seems to be a tightness issue that perhaps I could fix if it bothered me enough. It doesn't. The clunk becomes a much louder clunk when I do high intensity interval training and really work the machine. Even then it's not much of an issue. Don't care. I just reposition my weight slightly to manage it. It's not perfect gym-quality (i.e. the clunk), but it's better-than-home-quality and just what I expected for the price. Has it helped me lose weight? Nnnnope, not one bit. But it's helped me improve my fitness level by a lot which is more important right now, plus I can eat more without gaining ever since I worked up to 60 minutes/day 6x/week (took 6 months from completely sedentary), so that is a definite advantage to using the machine. The calorie-counter is absolutely not accurate, so don't even bother using it. I use http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm instead to figure out what I actually burned, and recommend that to others. To help you lose or maintain weight with the thing, I'd recommend 60 minutes/day 5-6x/week like I do, and like the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute recommend as well for weight maintenance and/or loss, and cut back 500 calories/day in addition to the cardio for the slow weight loss. I'm very happy with this machine and fear the day that it might break on me like some of the other reviews say, but so far so good. I waited a good long time before reviewing it because I was very skeptical in the beginning, too, like any of you would be. The fan - it's not wonderful. It points at my stomach so i have to tie my shirt up in order to cool off, but that's another thing that's manageable. -That's really all I can think to mention. Hope this helps!

Workout programs don't work

I bought a new NordicTrack E7.1 Elliptical machine from Sears last week. It was delivered on 2/4/11 and installed that night and the next morning. Installation went very well with no problems. After choosing a workout, the machine displays "Start Striding" but the message never goes away. There is no indication of progress even after 20 minutes! The workout programs don't make any adjustments over time as they should. The box opened very easily. That and a serial number that's partially unreadable makes me think I got a used model.

Love the Nordic Track E7.1 Elliptical Trainer

|

I had seen this Elliptical a year ago and was kind of not sure if I wanted to buy this unit. I am so glad I did as it gave me a good work out the first time I used. I love it! It's quiet and smooth. I would highly recommend this unit.

Love this eliptical, Hate the pedals!

|

I have had my eliptical for about 8 months now. I love it.. its a great workout! Sturdy and well built. Only complaint I have are those gel bump pedals. If you have small feet ( womens 6.5 ) they tend to really hurt after about 35-40 minutes no matter how much you move and flex your feet!

Nordic Track E7.1

|

I finally purchased this Nordic Track E7.1 on June 18, 2012. I love this machine. I had only one problem and that was the technical group who put it together for me did a bang up job. I called Nordic Track and they sent a Tech out within the next 3 day. problem fixed. great machine.

Quite and quality

|

I love this elliptical. I wanted one that was sturdy and stable and this solid piece of equipment fits the bill. I love the built in iPod capabilities and jam while working out. Super motivation. The preset workouts are challenging. I've been using it only a week, in addition to dietary changes, and already notice my clothes fitting better. Much more convenient than trying to get to the gym. The machine runs quietly and I'm not at all disappointed. I recently broke my foot and had to give up my treadmill. This elliptical gives me a great workout without stress on my foot. Love this machine and highly recommend!

Awesome workout, terrible tech support

|

Our first elliptical had issues with the lift motor and had the service tech guy coming out to our house for over a month trying to troubleshoot the issue before we said that we were tired of not being able to use our brand new machine properly and that we wanted a new machine. So Nordic Track told us to go through Sears to make that happen. Nordic Track has the worst customer service by the way, long and I do mean long hold times and long shipping times for parts, not to mention the fact that their service techs are not trained but are instead just contracted labor. Anyways, our second machine works perfectly and is as smooth as silk. There are two things that I have issues with and that is that it does not calculate distance on the display and I am not sure if the calories burnt are very accurate. As for the workout, well if you want a machine that will kick your butt, well this will do it and do it good.

Definitely worth it.

|

My wife and I decided to get an elliptical to work off some winter pounds. After researching a bit, we came across the E7.1 and decided to get it. It was definitely worth it. It is sturdy, functional, gives a great work out, and was relatively easy to assemble.

The only negative is that the computer display seems a bit dated, like something from the 90s, but everything considered, it is still an outstanding piece of equipment.

Arrived Defective

|

Don't really know if I'll like it, yet. After assembly (about two weeks ago) we found that the resistance didn't change and seemed to be higher than the minimum compared to our old one. After spending a half hour on hold we were told that they would send us a replacement wiring harness for the resistance motor. My guess is that that's the cheapest first guess. Of course, the part is 'unavailable' so may take longer than the normal 7-10 days to arrive (it's still not here) So far, it does a great job of being an obstacle in the basement.

Great elliptical for a good price

|

My husband and I were looking for a good, sturdy elliptical machine that would work well for both our body types. The NordicTrack has been a great price performer and allows you to plug in an ipod or other mp3 device. It does not have alot of bells and whistles. The digital screen is very 1980's but gets the job done. Well worth the money invested. Nice and sturdy and a fair price.

Great piece of equiptment for the price!

|

I am so thrilled I can workout without bothering my family - while we all watch tv together! This is a sturdy, stable and quiet machine. It took about 2 hours to assemble. The instructions could have been clearer and I wish they would include more information regarding maintenance.

Nordictrack Elliptical Trainer E7.1

|

this product stands out most to me because of the incline,my 11 year daughter henasia has a weight problem and i feel the nordictrack will do the best for my daughter and the rest of the my family. We won't stop there, we will pass it on, pay it forward. That way someone else will have the same enjoyment my family has or more...

Nordictrack E 7.1

|

This product is worth it's money. It was a very reasonable price and my husband adores it. I cannot get him off of the thing ever since we purchased it. I am glad we finally found something he and I could agree on and be able to work out and keep in shape. It gives out a lot of specifics and easy to manage and understand, we love it!
