Nordic Trak Cycle

In the short time I have had this cycle, I have more than tripled my biking time now that the weather has cooled! Some complained about the hardness of the seat but it feels very similar to my regular outdoor cycle. Purchase one of those gel seat covers and you will be fine!! I have the ifit live module that I switch back and forth between the treadmill and the bike. I hook up my ipad and watch the scenery from around the world. My only complaint is that the book holder is good for the ipad in portrait mode but when I flip to landscape it doesn't fit. In addition, it's harder to adjust the resistance while you are riding because the ipad covers up the controls. I am working around that issue and am enjoying my ride. It's very quiet too! Can't even hear it shift resistance! Highly recommend ;-)

Not pleased.

We had to return the first item as one metal(not strong metal either)piece was bent and would not go into hole properly. Needed two people (men) to complete as it definately requires two people. Instructions and materials not the best. Upon completion and beginning to pedal, there is a constant metallic pinging sound at each pedal rotation. If something metal is stuck internally it will ruin the motor. Now we have to call Sears AGAIN and have this resolved. At this point I am ready to rip it apart and have the product removed from my charge card. Fed up with Sears and Nordictrac. I expected better from both.

No stars product

Way below average bike. The tension is too tight even when using in a level 1. The only reason this qualifies for one star is due to the electronic features being easy to use.

Very Happy With This Bike

|

I have had this bike for a several days and I have put about 50 miles on it. So far I think this is an excellent value. It looks good, has solid construction, everything on the bike works as described and it was easy to setup per the written instructions. It has lots workout programs and provides lots of feedback. I intend to purchase the iFit package to get even more out of my workouts.

So disappointed!

|

We ordered this bike, and after just a few days the screen would shut off mid-exercise and the bike power would flicker on and off. We contacted Nordictrack and after waiting weeks, we received replacement parts, but not the tool necessary to change the part. We ordered the tool necessary, waited another week, and replaced the part, ready to ride. Now after just a few months, we are having the same issue! It would be a good bike if it worked, but 3 months of use over the last 7 months is ridiculous!!

Not the one for me

|

My hubster bought this for me for my birthday because this is the one I chose..I really wish I had looked more.

The seat on this thing is the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on. Id rather sit in a metal folding chair! I probably only used it about 5 times..And that is because of how uncomfortable it is. It was terrible. Of course, I realized this after we threw out the box, so we couldnt return it to get one that I found that would be more comfortable. :(

The only reason I am not giving it one star is because I thought the different modes it had were cool and the fact that I could plug my phone in to listen to my music loudly.

Bad quality

|

Manufacture deficit, screw does not fit. Thread misalign. Handle tilted. Sears should stop selling junk equipment by this manufacturer.

Quality Product

|

This unit has a lot less adjustments than the GX 2.0 version. I don't know if it because they had maintenance issues but to me it seems like you get less for your money.

Problem after 5 days

|

Bought the bike on 6/20. By 6/25 the control panel display stopped working correctly. None of the buttons worked except for the home and display button so I could not change modes or increase levels of resistance.
The cycle was not hard to put together. It can be done by 1 person but 2 in some cases would be helpful. I used the shipping box as an extra hand in my case. Most of it is already assembled. Pedaling was smooth and very quiet. Resistance levels ( when it did work) increased from easy to VERY hard. When it works you can get a good workout. I'm 71" tall and I was able to adjust the seat up and back so my knees would not hit the handlebars.... BUT there was only a centimeter or two of clearance. Besides the control panel failure the other con is the seat....OUCH after 20 minutes. You may want to get some type of seat pillow if that is possible or change the seat .
Overall its ok if you can modify the seat and nothing breaks. Has a small foot print and will give you a good workout. I returned mine and am now waiting on my A.C.T. elliptical to be delivered.

Disappointed

|

While assembling the equipment, everything is going well until I get to step 9, attaching the handlebar section to the body of the cycle. It's supposed to slide in and tightened with a large bolt. Lo and behold, the two metal pieces that should fit DO NOT FIT. There is no way I can get the piece to slide into the other piece. The instructions say to contact ICON Fitness which I did. I sent them pictues of my problem and now they're supposed to send me a new part. Hopefully this works. If not, I will have to return the cycle back to Sears as ICON doesn't ship the body if that is the defective part. I tried the cycle in the store and it seemed to be what I was looking for but now I am disappointed that the pieces don't fit and I can't assemble it.

No traction in drive belt...poor instruction on how to tighten

|

I was very excited to get this bike together. I always heard NordicTrack made quality equipment so when the price was right I decided to get one. I had had two different bikes previously, one a ProForm, and very much enjoyed them. It was very easy to put together which excited me even more. Started to ride the bike and no tension. Read the instructions for tightening the belt which seemed easy enough but one of the bolts was stuck so we got out a wrench. Still too tight. Had to go get some liquid wrench to loosen. Finally loosened tightened the other bolt as per instructions put the bike back together, rode the bike for five minutes, and then loss tension again. Fix again, try to ride, loose again. Tried to fix five times last time boyfriend decided to tighten the bolt not even mentioned in the instruction but seemed like the most logical to tighten. Finally thought he fixed it and it was worked four a full ten minutes then surprise loose again. Returning for refund.

First time using a stationary bike.

|

Fairly easy to assemble, but you will need someone to help. Instructions are well written. Have had this bike for only a few days now, but I love it! Had to give up the treadmill due to knee issues, and this is the perfect substitute. Lots of workout options, and for the money, I think a great value.

Way too tight!

|

We got this bike to help rehab my husband's knee as well as add to our workout equipment. I got on and pedaled and I cannot pedal on the lowest resistance for more than 5 minutes. Level 1 is more like level 7 on the bike at our YMCA. I workout all of the time, so this isn't a wus problem. We called the tech out and he said it felt fine to him but he would order a part. He then told the Nordic track people there was nothing wrong. We are taking the bike back this week. It's unfortunate because we already bought a Nordic track treadmill, which I use everyday and love, and I wanted to have a matched set. But unless you are using this bike for strength training I cannnot recommend it.

Solid bike worth the extra price

|

I am replacing a $150 upright indoor bike (another brand, I am not going to bad mouth any brands) and it is well worth the pricing difference. This is a strong, solid bike that includes are really tough resistance choices like no other upright bicycle. Store said you can put together in 30 minutes. Not me, a couple of hours (but I did it, and if I can do it, anyone can).

No Seat!!

|

I got this bike home and began putting it together and found that there was no seat included in the box which appeared to be unopened! The salesman was very helpful and gave me a temporary seat to use until the correct one arrived. It has been 2 weeks and I am still waiting! The temporary seat they gave me is awful!!!

DO NOT BUY

|

Purchased last night from Sears, put it together this afternoon. My first impression was the welds were sloppy. Obviously not quality work but it's Chinese made. Once together, I was anxious to ride. I rode for 15 minutes and the left crack arm fell off. I thought, a screw had come lose and I would just put it back on. Chinese quality right! Well, the threads on the crank were stripped and the screw was crossed threaded. I called Nordic Track and was told they would send a technician. I don't want a technician. One of the reasons I chose this one at Sears was it was in stock. It's going back tomorrow. I want something I can use now. I would rather spend an extra $100 that get this garbage from China
