16 person tent by northwest terrtories

it was simple to put up my 11 and 8 year old and I less than 20mins, and the inside space is fantastic if your tired of bending an crawling inside your tent this is the one for your family. It has 4 big rooms we put 4 queen size mattreses a card table with 5 chairs all our gear, the family dog and his bed and still had lots of space also the price was great under 200, and did i mention how well it's built. Great tent!!!!! It's so nice and big it really should have it's own house number's lol.

Roomy but better wear a rubber suit!

I was beyond excited when I purchased this tent for its massive space. I loved the two mini closets that are located in the rear of the tent and the fact that you could create three separate rooms one for the grownups one for the kids and half the tent for a common space. It was fairly simple to set up as everything is color coded but you definitely need two people. I was a bit put out by the tents quality, lots of hanging strings and the material did not appear to be very durable, I really liked the way the windows in the front of the tent are set up as it really allows a nice breeze and to flow through the tent. I used Coleman's seam sealer on all the seams. I do this with all my tents. A concern I had with the tent concerned the rain fly. It did not appear to adequately cover the screened top of the tent. I mean it covered it but with very little to material to spare. Other than that issue I was pretty tickled with my tent and could not wait to take it camping. The first time it was the envy of the campground. The neighbors called it the Taj Mahal *lol* I was pretty proud of my purchase. While we were out doing activities we had a downpour. When we got back to the campsite I was aghast to find our tent flooded! everything was soaked I was so frustrated! When we arrived home the tent was set up in the backyard and it was sprayed with waterproofing solution. I figured we were now good to go again. So the next camping adventure began quite well until the last night we were caught in a awful T-storm. It impressively stood up to the wind however, once again the tent leaked and not just a little - it was awful! My earlier concern of the rain fly not coming far enough down was confirmed as rain was blowing in. It was once scary night! So in short...we have not taken this tent out without it leaking so the only solution that has worked is to place a 20x20 tarp over it. Save your money and go buy a better quality tent. This one while spacious is defiantly not worth the hassle!

mountain lodge tent

Very pleased with the size and easy set up. I have had a number of tents and for an extra large tent you can if you have set up the tent all by your self. Always easier with help. It has nice dividers to section off the tent into four section or just 2 or 3 sections. the bump outs are nice for storage. You can fit 4 king size air mattress inside with walking room between them. My brother runs a 3 day you camp every year & it is great for large groups as well as small groups. Very pleased

Awesome tent

Quick set up and take down. Only a few poles. Most important thing when you camp as much as we do. Crazy amount of space. Buying another one to have just in case something happens to the other. Only bad thing is front pole slides down sometimes. Nothing a little duct tape won't fix.

Great for the $$

We recently purchased this large tent for our large family. It fit all 5 of us VERY comfortably. It was easy to assemble and did not leak at all in the rain.

Want to get wet? But this tent~

|

Pros--roomy, easy to put up, good packaging
CONS-- if you want to get rained on? get this tent!!!! we have several different types of rain this weekend and even the steady not heavy rain dripped in, it is the seams---so even adding rainguard or waterproofing would not have helped. The lil closets in the back leaked all over not only the seams. We were on a family trip with other friends and her tent leaked too it was a jeep tent and we all moved into mine since we had the room and it was not as wet as hers. the whole perimeter leaked. Propping up the sides with our stuff inside helped with making the water run down but it still leaked. I am currently trying to contact the manufacture--and since northwest is not a company and other companies make their tents I am not having much luck, I just got off the phone with kmarts corp office and they created a case for it. I disagree with kmart/sears selling an item that you cannot contact who made the product. Needless to say the weekend was wet, and soggy, and our 2 hour trip away on a weekend a few weeks before school was ruined---most of our night was trying to rig the front doors from leaking since it was the worse--we even had tarps over some of the edges. We did get our money back --thank goodness but still. Our weekend ruined. FYI something I learned from this--- buy an all weather tent or a level 4 tent for all weather---supposedly better for this type of issues. Don't waste your time you would be better to make a tent out of a tarp and wrap it around trees to create a lil home area then buy this tent. At least you would be dry. I will never buy another product from northwest --ever!

pros
easy to set up, packaged nicely, big , ok looking ,fair price and roomy
If you like a wet bed and clothes and food and kids and every thing else you brought then this is the tent for you. Leaks at all seams especially the door which we spent the night rigging up a boobie trap with table cloths and tarps to stay dry. We all had to sleep in the middle on top of each other as the perimeter was soaked not damp or a little wet but soaked all of the clothes and bags were soaked. The towels literally were full to capacity over and over again, I would not sagest this tent I read the reviews and did not listen so if you are like me and want to get it anyway you will be back writing a review and have you fun weekend come to a halt DO NOT BY THIS TENT I will be calling the company.

Love this tent!

|

There was tons of room in this tent for all of our things. It rained while we were out and we were able to enjoy some time inside using out camping chairs even with our cots set up. The tent stayed dry! Even the closets remained without water which kind of surprised me. The room divider is not removable but knowing this I brought some boca clips along and three of them kept it up nicely. Very glad this is the tent I purchased. Well worth it. :)

nice large tent

|

Took it camping over memorial weekend. Nice large tent. Had a little rain one morning and had no problems with the tent leaking. Don't know if it would hold up during a bad storm. But I was really pleased that it had enough room for us.

Space is Awesome the rest of it not so much!

|

Very spacious and that we loved. However if you are in a place where there is more than a breeze and it might rain more than a sprinkle, this is not the tent to have. Rain fly does not fit tent nor does it fasten firmly to the tent. The tent stakes included with this tent wouldn't hold a picnic blanket down in a light breeze. We spent an entire 4 day weekend continually putting this tent back up, trying to keep it staked to the ground and towel drying the inside everytime it rained. It was ridiculous! The floor is very light weight and can be torn easily. Color coded poles make it fairly simple to put up but this is by no means a one or two person job. We decided that "16 person tent" must mean that it takes 16 persons to put it up and take it down. Really wishing I had spent my money more wisely.

Best value for your dollar for sure

|

I bought this tent last year for my family of 4. its so big inside that it is like a mini house! the kids had room to play, we had tables and portable dressers so that our camping experience felt like a vacation. My favorite option are the little cubby's in the back room and the room divider, Kid room and adult room, we love camping now with having this tent.

Decent

|

We purchased this ... and after a BAD shipping experience we received it 2 weeks ago. It is spacious not quite as big as I thought but good size. It seemed pretty leak proof but we sealed the seems anyway just to be safe. It does flap alot in the wind. My complaint would be that the floor is very thing tarp and holes can poke easily and the windows don't come close enough to the ground to allow good airflow but in cooler weather it won't be bad. The divider isn't removable but with ingenuity it can be rolled up to get it out of the way. Doesn't sleep 16 though. It holds a double high queen and a regular queen in the back part with a few feet in between ... would be hard to squeeze another bed in between but you can put beds in the front part too. Closets are cool! and big lol

Northwest territory Mountain Lodge

Very spacious tent, but built too flimsy. In windy condition not too good, the side and roof flaps way too much, with no support in the middle. Use it for just one weekend, the tent has a fabric damage and a couple of strap. The divider in the middle is a great idea, but would be much better if it could be remove.

Fixes. add retainers to wall, need stronger fabric for size of tent. Make divide removable. Secure roof of tent better.

Northwest Territory Mountian Lodge 16 Person Tent.

|

Tent was real easy to go up. I did not like the divider in the middle. Not a good spot for it. We had rain for three days and the tent was leaking every where. All the corners on the floor, the windows, the doors, they all had leaks. It was under our mattress and all. The only thing that did not leak was the top. I would not recommend this tent to anyone.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT

|

WE LOVED HOW EASY THE TENT WAS TO PUT UP AND THE SPACE.. MY SON IS AN EAGLE SCOUT AND EXPRESSED HIS DEEP CONCERNS OVER THE STABILITY OF THE POLES HOLDING THE TENT UP. HE WAS RIGHT. THE FIRST HEAVY RAIN WE'VE HAD ALL SUMMER, A GUST OF WIND, AND DOWN WENT THE TENT. .
