Good camera for the money

I bought this as a present for my 18 yo daughter. She was going to Nicaragua on a Missions trip and wanted a good camera. I found this one and she took amazing pictures. It has many cool features. One of her favorites was the panoramic view. She came home with about 1500 pictures and the clarity was stunning. She really wanted a camera with a good zoom ability. This one has a 22xs optical zoom that more than met her needs. She tends to be a tad klutz and I was worried about giving her an expensive camera. She has dropped it a few times and it held up remarkably well. The only down side is it goes through batteries like mad. We sent 50 batteries with her for her trip that lasted just over two weeks. She did go through almost all of them

Olympus SP 610UZ

This camera works for my purposes. I was surprised at how small and light it is - I see this as a positive. It took a while for me to figure out, but I tested many different configurations and got good results. It was easy to transfer images to the computer. My only downside was that it doesn't store many images without a memory card but that is easily solved with one. I also wish the zoom had more of a range. It seems to go from one extreme to the other - can't seem to get more out of it. Overall it works for my simple needs and I recommend it for basic photography.

OLmpus SP digital camera

This camera is a wonderful value for the price. The camera has great zoom ability, is light weight and easy to use. It is a perfect camera to take on vacations and travels. The capability to use panaramic view is a plus. The picture were clear and vibrant. As an extra bonus the camera has a digital video record that i found most useful. I would recommend this camera to a friend.
