Great television outstanding value

After shorting out my 42" 720p panasonic plasma (it was my fault did something stupid) I needed a replacement. I knew I wanted a plasma (better picture quality, better for sports, more durable screen which is necessary due to my autistic child who hits it all the time ect, plasma is better ect ) I read at great length about what was available and narrowed it down to the Panasonic S60 and ST60. Because I could care less about 3d and because it was $300 cheaper I went with the S60. I could not be happier with the decision. Although the S60 has no glare filter (I can make my room dark and glare really isn't an issue) the picture quality is simply outstanding. The blacks are a dark, inky black, the colors pop without being exaggerated, the panel, although factory-set with the brightness too high, was easy to adjust. I cannot believe this picture quality is available for the price (couldn't find it cheaper anywhere). Would give it 6 stars if I could. Outstanding value!

Should have heeded previous warnings...

Purchased this tv, took home, installed; picture was great for 5 minutes. Then the screen went blank... Thot I hit the remote by accident but was unable to restart tv, so I unplugged then plugged in and that did the trick...for 5 minutes! TV turned off again and I noticed the 7 blinking lights of death. Manual says to unplug and allow to reset but twice in the first 10 min? Well, she is repacked for a trip back to Sears and a different brand. I read about this issue and should have listened to previous owners complaints but I liked the features and price of this tv. Also, this TV is hooked up via my surround sound system and remember that I couldn't get the TV volume to work. I didn't pay much mind since my surround is my audio output anyway but I did try to disable that to hear the speakers; sound bar moved up but only a faint scratch could be heard. I guess I got a real lemon, its a shame because I spent a lot of time researching this purchase....guess its Samsung

Love it, love it, love it!

More functionality than I ever knew was possible. Great picture; easily connects to your home network; and has every type of port and adaptor you could ever need. I like that there are additional products you can buy with this, too (like the pen to write onscreen, which is fun to use and allows you to play some games that come with the TV!).

Excellent value for a plasma TV

Panasonic has a reputation for making the best plasma televisions and although this model is the bottom of their line, the picture is still excellent. It has been highly rated by many review articles as the best value for the cost because of the excellent picture and basic features.
This TV does have an excellent picture and was very easy to set-up. The wifi was also easy to configure and connects directly to Neflix, Youtube and several other websites. Panasonic is discontinuing manufacturing plasma sets so I jumped on this highly rated TV. I am totally satisfied with this purchase.

Happy Panasonic Plasma buyer, great picture quality. First Impression.

I bought this TV (50") from Sears a day before thanks giving for $599+ taxes + recycling fee. Very few people must have got this deal on this amazing TV. I had spent a lot of time researching TV on line and in store. I have spent hours in ******** looking at TVs.
This is my very first foray into HDTV, and I am glad that I made this purchase. The picture quality is amazing, the rendering of colors is very natural as opposed to those LED tvs.

Pros.
1. TV is treat to look at, sleek design, nice metallic accent on top and bottom.
2. TV is really easy to set up.
3. Picture quality is really good as compared to other LED TVs (Not as good as 4K, which no one care at this time)
4. Watch a blu-ray movie in dark room with home theater speaker system, you will never go to Theater again.
5. I like the fact that it is not a full smart TV (it just has internet apps). I like to have pure TV experience. I have PS3 or WIDI for internet access and apps.
6. Natural rendering of all colors.
7. Blacks are really deep which makes it really good watching experience in dark room condition.

Cons:
1. TV is little heavy, which is not a problem for me, but might be for others.
2. I use antenna, and this TV does not have good channel info feature.
3. It does not show what programs will be coming next on my TV. (it used to show on my Samsung TV)
4. Watching movie in bright lit room, gives you reflection.
5. Netflix app is buggy(ask in comment why is it bad)
6. Other apps are also not as good as they are on PS3.

All in all very happy with the purchase.

Crisp and Clear

This bedroom TV has the crisp and clear picture that I wanted for viewing with low/no lighting. I researched this make/model on Consumer Reports and it got a high rating. Plus, it was on sale...
