Panasonic blu-ray player perfect price

Bought a new Panasonic Viera LCD HDTV and wanted a Blu-Ray player to go with it. Didn't want anything super fancy but not too far behind the curve. With how good this player makes regular DVDs look, let alone blu-ray content, you can't beat the price on this.

Good Value

I have been holding off on buying a Blue Ray until the quality products lowered its price. This product is great for the money. I have always trusted Panasonic and this gadget didn't let me down. The picture and sound quality is AWESOME and it was easy to hook up. I highly recommend.

Good Entry Level Blu-Ray Player

I bought this blu-ray player in March 2011 to replace a DVD player that was on its way out. I just wanted something cheap because my fear was that no sooner would I buy a blu-ray player, it would be obsolete or something else will come along with better features for the same price. I wanted a blu-ray player in case I ended up keeping this player for a long time and there were only going to be blu-ray discs (and no more standard DVDs) available in the future. So far, this unit is great. As with one reviewer, I also had the player hang up on me once during loading of a disc and had to unplug it. But that has only happened once. The unit is very basic with minimal settings to work with. I have not tried streaming movies because my internet is not fast enough to support it. I do wish it had Wi-Fi, but I probably would have had to pay more. It's a feature i can do without because again, my internet is not fast enough. All in all, its a solid choice, especially if you are able to get it on sale for less than $99.99. I just which it had composite video jacks in case I didn't have HDMI capability on an older TV. The thinking is that by now, if you don't have a TV with HDMI, you should get a new TV. Otherwise, what is the point of having this technology.

Working great so far and fantastic picture quality.

I have nothing bad to say about this player. I will, however, say that it's my first blu-ray so I don't have much to compare it to.
I purchased this in October to replace and upgrade from a generic dvd player. For the price and what I intended to use it for, I believed it to be the best option for me. Again, the picture is great. I haven't used all of the options that blu-ray offers so I can't speak to the functions. However, if, like me, you simply want a great DVD player, I find nothing wrong with this particular one.
The remote is simple and easy to understand. I tend to watch movies at night in bed so I keep it in there. Within a few weeks, I had the remote buttons memorized so as to not turn on the light to view it. Of course, a light up remote would have been great, but they seem to be a rarity these days.
Again, if a good and fairly inexpensive DVD player is what you're looking for, I really don't think you'll find a better machine for the price. As with all of my electronic purchases, I purchased the extended warranty plan with it. I found that the price of the machine and the warranty came to the amount of what other stores were asking for the machine alone. I feel this gave me an added bonus.
When making any online purchase, I shop numerous stores and all sales. If I've chosen a particular item to buy it is a product of usually 2 days of research.

This Panasonic Blu-Ray is amazing

I've only have this Blu-ray player for a few weeks and it hasn't been giving me any troubles. My video freezes sometimes but that was probably due to the scratches on the disk. Overall, I'm happy with this product.

Very nice picture, great price

I needed a new blu ray player after the Vizio player I bought just 2 years ago, would no longer load discs. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this Panasonic. The picture quality is superb, and most importantly for me, since I wear headphones to watch movies, the dynamic range control really works, without the film's audio blasting my ears off.

Doesn't have Digital Audio output

You'll need HDMI to get digital audio, and if you have an older TV or receiver, forget surround, you only get 2 channel ouput. Sales guy at Sears tried to convince me I could still get surround out of the two LR outputs. Ridiculous!! I don't want fake pro logic in the age of 5.1 and 7.1!

Panasonic Blu Ray Player is Affordable

When shopping for a blu ray player the two things we were looking for the most were an affordable price and a brand we could trust. This player offered both. It ws on sale for a much lower price than the majority of other players at the store. And it is made by Panasonic, a brand we have purchased and has success with in the past. We have had the player for over a year now and it works the same as it did the day we brought it home. We never have a problem with it playing any of our dvds or blu-rays. The only complaint I have is that sometimes it is loud when it starst up. It quiets down after a few minutes of running though and is not a major compaint.

Plays BluRay, DVD, Netflix all perfectly

I live at the end of the road, we do have satelite but that can be touchy. This player logs onto Netflix in seconds and you are set to go watching all 100 episodes of your favorite TV show. I have had to reboot it 2 times since I purchased it but that was only when I went to sleep with it left on overnight. Pretty cool little player without being expensive and requiring a Phd in Technology.

Not expensive, but Buggy Firmware, Clumsy Menus, No memory

This is my first BD player. I've had my player for just over two months now, and have had several problems. I'm considering to return it for a refund and get a higher end model.

The main reasons I bought this unit was the brand, second being the low price. It is the same brand as my TV, and should have reduced the number of remote controls I need. In the end, I still need a remote for the TV and the BD player.

My first disappointment was all my BD Live features failing to operate, due to the player not having any built-in memory. This is documented in the manual is you read carefully. You have to plug in a USB disk that the player can use as local storage (memory). If you leave the USB disk in the player, the Live video is not erased, and the Video player functions jump to it first when you turn it on (even it you want to play a disk).

The next disappointment was the system seems to hang very often when you first turn it on. It seems that if you try to do any action (like inserting a disc) before the system initializes itself (about 20 seconds), it hangs and must be unplugged to reset itself. This is very inconvenient when your player is in a cabinet.

Less annoying, but still annoying, are the on-screen menus. They are overly simplistic (visually) but still require several button pushes to do anything useful. Also, the up-down-right-left-ok buttons are close to the bottom of the remote, and these are the ones you use most often, which makes the remote awkward to handle with one hand. (They got it right on my TV's remote.)

Does way more than I thought possible!

Well I had five Blu-Ray disc's that I couldn't watch because my son took his PS3 home with him! So I saw this Panasonic at Sears while I was checking things out. The price was Great, so I picked it up. To say the least if I had done my home work I would have at least read the package but all I needed was a Blu-Ray player and that was it. I was totally and pleasantly surprised when I hooked it up. Number one it had an HDMI output and that matched my TV! Number two during the setup it asked me if I had any online accounts like Netflicks. Well I did and was able to watch my Netflick movies without having to use my computer! At sixty years old plenty of what is going on technologically is beyond me so when I come across something like this, easy to use, easy to set up, does more than I paid for I feel like a genius! I have just told you about what I have used on this product not all of the other things it has or does. So even if you go into this blind as I did, you can't go wrong! If you plan better than I do,read about the features before you buy it. In either case I don't think you could not find a better unit for a better price anywhere! Oh, by the way I did finally watch my Blu-Ray DVD's! "Bullet " was awesome and "Logan's Run" took me back more than a few years!

I really like the Panasonic Blu-Ray disc player

A great player for the price. I have started to purchase a few movies to play on it. The next one I get will be a home theater system when I purchase a larger LED LCD TV for my living room.
