Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. I do not have a look up for a different pulley. I recommend checking at your local farm and fleet store. They will have pulleys of different sizes. You just need to find a pulley with the same outside diameter with a one inch bore. If you do not find one there, let me know what the diameter is. I will be happy to search for one. Please let me know the key size also.

will this fit on a 917-271052 tractor?

I'm not showing the item you found and are wondering about. I just show the model number of the tractor.

If you can submit back what the item is or a model number for it, I'm sure we can figure out if it will fit or not.

manual 917-289240

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with obtaining the manual. I see that Alina F has given you a link to your manual. Once you click on the link, it is going to take you to a page that does not look like it is doing anything. It will take a few moments for the manual to load. The reason is the site loads the whole manual before it shows up. Once the manual opens, you can use the tool bar above the manual to print and/or save a copy to your computer.

We have had some customers that the manual never opens. This is usually because the computer is missing an add on to open the file. Just in case, I have emailed a copy of the manual to the address we have on file.

If you could provide us with some feedback on the problems, you were having with the manual please click on this

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Sleeve Hitch for 917-28856

I don't know of a manual sleeve hitch assembly that will work for your tractor. This tractor was not designed to use the sleeve hitch as the chassis and transmission are not set up for the extensive load that "ground engaging" equipment can present.

I took my problem with the wrong part for my transaxle for the 917-272911 riding mower to the local Sears store. After research the Sears employee said I was out of luck. The spicer transaxle which I have was replaced by the peerless and no replacement parts are available for it. I could buy the whole transaxle but that wouldn't be cost effective. I see the newer peerless has roller bearings at the input shaft whereas my spicer just has the casing. Maybe a machine shop can drill the hole out and press in a bushing.

Belt sizes should not change even with substitutions and I do see that the secondary V belt #5262J has a substituted belt #108429X.  The original shows it measures  39 inches by 0.5 width. The belt number # 108429X is 9/16 wide 11/32 thick and 40.75 long. The primary belt #7074J is original. I see Anna provided the manual which has directions and a diagram.  You might want to send the substituted belt back and find one of the correct length. Please reply if further assistance is needed.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Throttle cable 917-370722

Hello Frank,

I would like to assist you with your question. I reviewed your model and this particular one does not have an adjustable throttle. The engine speed is factory set and is not designed to be changed. There is a drive control cable for the ground drive system and then an engine zone control cable which is connected to the operator presence safety lever. If the mower appears to not be running at the proper speed, it is recommended to take it in for service. To correctly set the engine speed, a tachometer is required for safety reasons.

Please let me know if you would like any further assistance.
