Thank you for your question on the side burner on your grill not lighting.

Without the model number I can only give you a couple of things to check on your BBQ grill not lighting the side burner.

Please make sure the igniter wire is attached to the spark probe on the burner head.

Also check to see if the wire is attached to the spark module.

Please reply with your model number so I can give you a more precise answer.

Thank you for your question.

I see that Barbara H has given you a few great links that explain the burner. The infrared burner is used to sear the out side of meat to keep the juices in. this just to sere the outside. Once the outside is seared transfer the meat to the other side.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern. It appears the front grill will pull off. There are no screws showing that would hold it in place. However, if you insulate and cover the outside section, it really won't be necessary to do anything with the inside grill. I hope this will help you.

@Patrick, the only other thing that would cause this to happen (after what's been done already) would be if there is a problem with the manifold or a blockage in the gas line.

You may want to check out

THIS BURNER

, which is a universal fit, to see if it will work for your grill.

This seems to be the only burner I see that comes up as working for your specific model.

Make sure the grill is cool and okay to touch. Look on the back bottom side of the burners and you should see a little pin holding it down. Pull that pin out and the burner will pull right out. Then set the new burner in place and push the pin through to lock it down.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Thank you for your question on the yellow flames on one burner.

It sounds like your primary air shutter on the valve is not adjusted correctly.

This particular burner style has a series of small holes for the primary air intake. They are next to the valve and you may not be able to see them with out removing the burner.

You may have to use a drill or a Dremel type tool to cut off the screw head so you can remove the burner tube to clean the primary air holes. If you get under the console you may be able to use the dental pick to access those holes.

You can purchase a replacement screw from a local hardware store if you need too.

Please let me know what you ended up doing to solve the problem.
