To calculate the capacity (volume) of the tub, you multiply the area by the height. For example if your washer has a tub radius of 10 inches and the height is 14 inches, you would use the mathematical equation below.

Area is pi x r-squared = 3.1416 x 10-squared = 3.1416 x 100 = 314.16.

Volume = 314.16 x 14 = 4398.24 cubic inches.

There are 1728 cubic inches per cubic foot, so you divide 4398.24 by 1728 = 2.5452777 cubic feet.

So the cubic feet of capacity of your washer would be 2.5.feet

NOTE : This applies to both laundry appliances

Another option you have is to take a look at your manual, you can get there by going to the home page of Manage My Life and click on the Manuals button then put your model number in and then your manual will appear.
