Why won't my washer spin or rinse the clothes?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

My clothes washer (Kenmore model 110.20842990) stops mid-cycle and does not drain the water or advance to rinse on any cycle and I was wondering what could cause this. When the washer stops, nothing is running. It completely stops and is quiet. If you turn the dial to restart the cycle, the wash runs until it get to the drain and rinse cycle and stops.

In regards to you Kenmore Washer, Model # 110.20842990

Top load agitator washers are designed to pump out first before they go into spin mode. The machine may appear to be in the Spin cycle but will not spin until the machine has finished pumping.

Make sure drain hose is not kinked, clogged or pushed all the way into drain.
