Why won't my Bissell vacuum cleaner pick up items on my carpet?

When I vacuum with the Bissell vacuum cleaner it looks like it is picking up dirt but is only putting dirt on the brushes. After awhile the dirt is thrown back on the floor. I hate this vacuum cleaner.

Your symptoms suggest that you have a clog in the suction air path or a failed vacuum motor. Without a model number, it is difficult to see the type of Bissell vacuum cleaner that you have. If you are able to find and clear a clog in the suction air path, you may be able to fix this problem yourself. If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details and the full model number of your Bissell vacuum cleaner.
