I have a Kenmore refrigerator model number 106.44422602 that ice freezes solid in the ice storage caddy system & I can't remove it.

The only way water can get into the ice bin is from the icemaker. It sounds like the water valve is adding too much water to the icemaker tray. This could be caused by the icemaker itself calling for too much water or the water valve not shutting off completely.

I recommend turning the icemaker off. If water still collects & freezes in the ice bin then we know that the water valve is faulty. If the problem stops then I suspect a faulty icemaker.

Other possibilities; unit shutting off or the ice door gasket not sealing.
