How do I take apart my Kenmore Progressive upright bagless vacuum cleaner to clean it?

The model number is 116.36932502. It emits a musty "wet dog" odor when used. (I have a dog and a cat in the house.) Changing both the canister and the HEPA filters did not help. I have heard it should be cleaned with enzymatic cleaner, but can't figure out how to disassemble and reassemble it. Thanks.

The disassembly instructions for this type of vacuum cleaner are shown in the image below. Your vacuum cleaner may differ slightly from the one shown below but the procedures should be the same.

The smell may be coming from the agitator. I recommend that you begin by cleaning that component and the housing around it. See if the smell goes away after cleaning this area.

You may not need to access the suction motor.
