Indoor heating dries the air inside buildings. In winter people often take longer, hotter baths and showers. We don’t sweat as much so we don’t drink enough fluids. When the air surrounding the skin is drier, water evaporates out more easily, drying the skin. Dry skin gets itchy, scratching causes a rash, rashes are itchy and we have a vicious cycle.
