Why is my Whirlpool oven not heating to the set temperature?

I have a Whirlpool Gold Accubake 465 electric oven that won't heat to the set temperature. The oven temperature set during the preheat stage does not get to the desired temperature. I bought a thermometer to measure the temperature and in order to reach for example 350, I have to not only place the temperature selector to 400 or higher, I have to let the oven preheat for around 20 minutes or more. Is this possibly just the heating element, the temperature sensor, or is there a reset?

I’m sorry; you forgot to provide us with the model number of your Whirlpool oven. We need the model number to access the service & other related material in order to provide you with model specific troubleshooting tips. We will need to use a meter to test resistance of the elements & voltage to the elements. Be sure you are using a professional oven temperature tester to get an accurate reading. It sounds like one of the elements is not working. Please resubmit with a complete valid model number for further assistance.
