I have a vacuum cleaner model 116.22612201. How do I replace the lower Base unit in detail?

I need to replace the lower base unit on my Sears vacuum cleaner. How difficult is this? Do I need any special tools or fixtures?

We don't have a step by step procedure for replacing the lower base of your vacuum.

Go to

searspartsdirect.com

and you can view or print a parts diagram of the vacuum.

To replace the base, you will have to remove and install the motor, cord reel and cord, wheels, electrical relay, and all the wiring harness.

This is a time consuming and frustrating job. I recommend you buy a new vacuum instead of replacing the base.
