how do u reconnect your seat switch to a craftmans riding mower

917.276051 my seat switch was by passed by the previous owner that had the craftsman gt 5000 and i just found out tonight that i need the brake clutch switch but it takes a five prong male end clip for it who can i fix this so that my safety on the mower works it wont shut off when u get off of it in gear or nutural or even with the blade engaged u can still get off of it with out the brake being in park need help to hook this back up so it works like it should

The seat switch connector on your tractor is a special connector that has a grounding wire inside of it the will short the wires if disconnected. The only way to get that connector is to order a complete harness. if you order the harness it is possible to just to cut and splice the connectors needed instead of replacing the complete harness. Another option is to put 1/4 inch female terminals on the end of the wires and plug the wire directly to the terminal of the switch. All of the safeties will work the way they should. Please remember if you just use female terminals if one of the wires comes off the seat switch, the tractor will not die if you come off the seat. I have provided you with a wiring diagram of your tractor.
