Maytag refrigerator control panel lights are flashing and the ice door opens and closes constantly. How do I stop this?

I have a 4 year old Maytag French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. All light on the control panel are
fast-flashing and the ice door that opens to despense the ice opens and closes repeatedly. I'm not sure if it is cooling properly because of the constantly flashing lights. What can I do to stop this?

That's interesting because I called this morning and they said they have no recalls or problems listed for the exact same model as yours. I tried to stand my ground, but it was at work, couldn't make a scene and tell them off, didn't have time. I was also beyond frustrated talking to someone who said talked to her supervisor but pretty sure she lied

I do not see the list of the recalls. My model number is #mfi2568aes serial #1018981jl

My model # isMF12568AEB is doing the same thing. I called maytag and got no help except the warranty she wanted to sell me is over $400.00 now. If I can identify the problem could probably repair myself. I could not see a list of affected model #'s

I am having the same problem. I can't seem to see any lists that you posted. My model number and serial number are: MFI2568AES 10598670JP. My model number is the same as above which you said was on the list. When I called this past saturday I was told that I would have to pay the diagnostics fee, but that likely parts and labor would be covered. After reading this forum I thought I shouldn't have to pay anything, so I decided to call back on Monday. Today they are telling me I'm responsible for the whole most and that I'm not on the list. This seems like the same problem everyone else is having. I was polite and stood my ground, but they wouldn't give in even after talking to a supervisor. Should I be pressing harder or talking to someone else? I need my fridge fixed so I have a service call in a few days.

Hey Scott- after several calls to Maytag and posts on their Facebook, they have refused to help pay for this issue, stating that my serial number is not affected. my logic back to them after they explained that the serials affected were from a known bad batch of control boards, was there a possibility that since this is the same problem known bad boards were having, doesn't it stand to reason that there were more than just that bad batch. If you know there is a problem, why not fix them all? why prejudice 1 batch. fix 1- fix them all. but apparently my logic was beyonf their comprehension. anyway we ordered a new board from Sears Parts direct who listed pn 67006294 for our fridge MFI2568AES. I also read that it needed to be programmed to the code on the tag. We installed the new board and tried to get it to come up to the PE 0000 to program it. it never went to PE mode but went through setup mode AL/ FC/SAB/LL. we set it up and the fridge started working!! we were estatic! ice was being made, temps were normalizing. 10 hours later at 3am I was awakened to the ice door clicking and flapping again. I literally started crying. WHY?!?!?! so from the post you made above, there is an updated board for this model? why did Sears not mention this, have it listed on their website, anything. Do we need this pn W10310240 for our model? will programming it with the code solve the issue? does the board we have new not accept programming? please help. We are lost and too broke for a new fridge....

I feel your pain.

I have a 2006 MFI2568AES fridge with flashing lights and ice dispenser door flapping. I have tried to call Maytag but they claim no knowledge or recall for this problem. Clearly they are not telling the truth. I am going to call 1-866-698-2538 and try again. Let me know if you are successful in getting Maytag to fix the problem.
Paul Ashwood
Spoke to Maytag today, they refuse to help me though. I plan to order to High Voltage Control Board (W10310240) that goes in the back of the fridge from Amazon for $234.95. Install is easy (saw it on youtube) and see if this fixes the problem.
J smith
It's very easy to get the circuit board from the back of the fridge and I had a computer repairman solder the new capacitors on. Took him about 7 minutes and I had the fridge working again within an hour of board removal.
J smith
You can change out two faulty capacitors on the circuit board and correct the issue. I did it this morning and everything is working properly now. Spend a total of roughly $40 for parts and labor.
Paul Ashwood
Received the board today and installed it. Had some issues with the programming code. The code on my fridge label says 0302 but the board would not take this code. So I tried 1411 and it worked! Fridge seems to be working now. $235 DIY repair was certainly better than buying a new fridge.

There is no visible sign that the capacitors are burned out or damaged on my HC board. Could you tell on your board that the capacitors were definitely gone?
J smith
Nothing visibly. They were very warm to the touch compared to the rest of the board which is an indicator. If your control panel lights are flashing and water/ice is not working and interior is not cooling then I would definitely try this before buying a new board. You will need to buy a 1000uf and 470uf capacitor to replace the existing two. There are two larger capacitors right beside a small one. The smaller one is fine and does not need to be replaced.
Paul McCracken
What voltages are the 1000uf and 470uf capacitors. I see everything from 16v, 25v and even 35v for the 1000uf 105c. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
