Why does my excercise bike get harder to pedal after about two minutes of use when I have not adjusted the pressure knob?

The bike is a Pro-Form Rebel recumbant bike & elliptical crosstrainer. I have replaced the bearing in the wheel a couple of times but it does not seem to be the problem. It works easy on the elliptical and also pedals easily if pedaled backwards.

Having a Treadmill that is not working can be quite a frustration. While you are waiting for an expert to reply I have done some research on the Manage My Life website and have been able to locate some information similar to your issue. I have attached a few links below if you would like to take the time to view.
