Replace snow blower auger drive cable and tensioner bushing

I just received my order today for an auger drive cable (762259MA) and tensioner bushing (762281MA) for sears snow blower (536.881400) but can't figure out how to put them on.

I did check my user's manual and two similar questions/answers on this website, it didn't help. The problem is that the diagrams on the user's manual is not much a 3-D, thus I don't know the orientation when installing tensioner bushing and how to insert the cable into the hole (which hole) of the bushing.

Please help - I ordered in express delivery expecting another storm to come early next week.

Thanks.

Thank you for your question.

I have checked the manual for your snow thrower but the image is not very clear. I will try to explain how the bushing is installed. The bushing slides onto the end of the tension spring. Then route the cable through the slot in the bushing. If the cable needs to be adjusted, loosen the nut and slide the tensioner back to take the slack out of the cable. Then tighten the nut.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks, but how can the auger cable be inserted into the tensioner bushing? The hole on the tensioner bushing is too small for the cable.

It's good to hear that you are preparing yourself for the storm that is on it's way over their. The question that you are asking is something that the experts have answered before. I placed the link down bellow that i believe will help you greatly in getting the snow blower up and running once again.
