Thermostat replacement for a 7903667 kenmore range

Can I get a manual to show me how to replace a thermostat in an oven for a 7903667 slide in gas range?
If so give me specifics on the availability and location.

Several things could cause this problem. The electronic oven control (clock), oven temperature sensor, oven ignitor, or bake burner could possibly be causing the problem.

I recommend you go to [services.sears.com/shs/category/repair?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch] and get a Sears technician to repair the range.

Jimmy, if this is the wrong information about what the thermostat does, then can you tell me if it would cause the oven to not heat to full temperature that is called for by the setting on the control panel, i.e. if the oven is set for 350 it will only heat to 200, and if set at 400 it might heat to 210. What would cause this problem and which part do I need to remedy it?

I gave you some wrong information. The thermostat on your range turns the cooling blower on the range on and off. The thermostat will not cause the range to not work.

The thermostat is located under the cooktop in the left rear portion of the burner pan. I am sending you some images showing how to remove the cooktop. With the cooktop removed the thermostat is easily accessed.

The part number of the thermostat is 318003606. The cost is $41.62. You can order the thermostat at [partsdirect.com?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch].

Jimmy K,
The model number is 790.36679400. I would appreciate images that would show me where to find this thermostat and how to get to it.
Thanks, Dan

I am not sure what part you are wanting to replace. Without a complete model number I can't access any information on your range.

Your range probably has a safety thermostat located under the cooktop. This thermostat would cause the oven to stop working.

The temperature of the oven is controlled by the clock which is an electronic oven control. There is an oven temperature sensor mounted to the rear wall of the oven.

You can see a parts diagram of the range at [partsdirect.com?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch]. You need to get the complete model number off the range to be sure you are ordering the correct part. The model number is on a tag on the frame of the range. It is located around the opening the storage drawer slides into.

There is no service manual to get, but we can send you images showing instructions for replacing parts on the range.

If you have more questions, reply on this thread and include the complete model number of the range, I will be glad to help.
