new kenmore dryer 69272000 makes loud thumping noise

I am using a new Kenmore 6927200 dryer and it is making a loud thumping noise -- similar to a noise like change or something heavy in the dryer (which there isn't). It makes the noise even when the dryer is empty.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The noise is likely caused by flat spots on the drum support rollers or possibly from the seam in the drum during the manufacturing process. If the welded seem is too tall it will also cause a thumping sound as the rollers pass over the seam. Since the dryer is new I recommend calling and scheduling a service appointment to diagnose and repair your dryer.
