Converting Range to LP

Tappan Series 110
Model 30-2251-00-02, Serial VF13814705

This range is set up for natural gas. We need to convert it to propane. Prior owner did not provide the owners manual. Is it a matter of simple adjustments to be done by the propance company, or is a conversion kit required? If a kit is needed, what is the kit number and where can I purchase it? I believe the range was purchased from Sears but they were unable to help, and recommended your website.

Your local propane supplier should be able to convert this range to LP gas. I don't have the owner's manual or installation guide available for that range. I looked at the components. The pressure regulator will need to be converted. This will be accomplished by the gas technician by removing the cap on that regulator in the range and then flipping the pin that is located just under that cap. The burner spuds on the surface burners will need to be tightened down to the LP position. This position is all of the way down until the spud cover rests firmly on top of the orifice. The technician should not over-tighten the spud covers. The same type of burner spud will need to be tightened on the oven burner. The air shutter on that oven burner will also need to be adjusted. This range does not require an LP kit to convert the burners to LP gas.

I recommend that you contact your local gas supplier and have them convert the range to LP gas. If they need help with the general directions for the conversion, you should be able to provide them with the information shown above. The ServiceLive.com website also has pre-screened service providers in most areas that can complete this conversion. You can visit that website through this link:
