We are constructing a wild game walk in cooler and lining the inside with 2 inch styrofoan board insulation. Can we put a coat of paint on the inside to help make clean up easier? Will it alter the insulating value and/or damage the board? Thankyou, Jan

The wild game walk-in cooler sounds fascinating and bit like a Hormel operation! I would definitely recommend making clean-up easier. You may have better wash-ability if you adhere something to the board itself - a product like contact paper or cabinet liner. If you opt for paint, use a latex paint that your local paint rep recommends for easy wash downs. A primer coating of gesso (linked below) is recommended to limit any reactions between the paint and insulation board.
