Samsung LCD TV LN40A530P1F Will not turn on
Samsung LCD Samsung LCD TV LN40A530P1F will not turn on. It acts like its not even receiving any power. We have gotten it to come on after pressing the power button a ton of times over and and over again. The red light in the bottom right corner is not even on. We have checked all of the power supplies, the cords, the outlets etc. It also is making an extremely high pitched noise even when its off. Any in home repair we could do? If not, is it worth it to get it repaired or get a new one? We are on a tight budget either way so the cheapest option within reason would be the best.

The problem would most likely be the power supply. The power supply board part number is BN44-00197A, but cannot be ordered from Sears because it is recommended to be installed by a technician. For this type of repair the cost would be about $350-450.
Ha. Might as well get a new TV for that price. Thanks Dusty for your information and your time. Do you have any recommendations as to what to do with the old TV besides just throwing it out?
You might be able to sell the TV for parts. Sometimes people break the LCD screen by accidentally getting hit.
