What was the original color of my 1946 Craftsman table saw?

I have a 1946 Craftsman table saw, model # 109.22620,that is covered in rust.I took it all apart to clean it up,(sandblast),and re-paint it back to original... What color was it,and where can i get it? And would it hurt the value,if any,to paint it a diffrent color?

Thank you for your question.

Wow, that is an old saw. We do not see many of these any more. I know the original color was gray but I could not tell you the exact color name. I was able to find a few images on vintagemachinery.com. Some of the images are with a gray color and others are a blue. Click

to visit that site. I am not sure if painting it a different color will affect the value. I recommend checking with an antique dealer before you decide the color. If you were to sell the saw, the collectors would be who would buy it. Most wood workers prefer larger tables.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
