Amana side by side not making ice. Inlet tube frozen in freezer. Why?

The inlet water tube to my ice maker is frozen. The freezer temp is correct. It makes all the correct sounds (calls for water correctly, and runs the cycle of pushing ice out, but there's no water due to tube frozen).

How do I fix this? I've read online that the water regulator may be leaking, causing the ice buildup.
Or is the defroster not working in the freezer coil?

I've emptied it, allowed it to sit and thaw, then it just does it again.

I read that one. It is not the issue. The supply is supplying water, it's freezing in the inlet tube before it can fill the tray. The ice maker continues to cycle as if it has water in the tray.

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the fill tube. This type of problem occurs when the water valve does not close all the way and water seeps through. This model has 2 valves and in some cases, both valves may need to be replaced. I suggest replacing the valve # 12544101, which is directly to the icemaker first. If the tube still freezes then the inlet valve # 12544001 will also need to be replaced. These valves are available at

SearsPartsDirect

. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you. Anticipating this answer, I ordered the 12544101 online, for
$21.95 at:
appliancedepot.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=12544101&x=0&y=0

That was a better price than Sears's $34.28.

Thanks for the help. Hopefully this fixes it.
