Craftsman Table Saw - Model No. 315-228390

I want to know if the arbor shaft (part # 979893-001) is press fit into the bearings, or if it can be removed/replaced simply by removing the retaining ring (part # 980583-001). Thanks.

Thank you for your question on the arbor and the arbor bearings on the table saw.

These bearing are a tight fit but not a pressed fit. You should not need a press to put them on.

Removing the retainer ring and then you may have to tap on the bearings to get them off.

If the bearing was included and installed onto the arbor shaft as a replacement part it would have been pressed on to the arbor.

I hope this information will help.
