Does my Craftsman garage door opener wall unit have a battery?
by Manage My Life Last activity date:
I just purchased a 10-year-old home. I have a Craftsman garage door opener wall unit and a Genie Intellicode opener with a Genie outdoor keypad, but no remotes. I was able to reprogram the keypad, but I'm not able to program my new Genie remote. The instructions say that perhaps the wall unit is locked. It does have a lock button on it. Pushing that doesn't help. Pushing the 'light' button does nothing, either. Maybe there's a battery in there that needs replacing? How do I get it off the wall to check? Then when that's done, how do I unlock the thing if its locked? Thank you!!

PS: The large button on top of the wall unit works - the garage door does open and close properly. It just appears that the Light and Lock buttons do not work.
