Older Maytag gas range CRG9700BAW. See for natural gas and I need to convert it to propane. No manuals available. Can it be converted?

Thanks for your inquiry about the Maytag range, I will be glade to assist with this.

I have researched the model you provided and find no LP conversion kit listed for the model CRS9700BAW.

I have also been unable to locate a service manual. Some models don`t need any parts (orifices) as they can be adjusted oven and top burners and regulator, However I cannot determine that on your model and would suggest having a Certified LP technician out to inspect the range.

Thanks Ron H.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link:

I would call a appliance parts store and give them model# to see if the can get lp conversion kit .there is an orfice in the gas valve that haS TO BE CHANGED in order to use propane. U should have someone install it that is famliar with gas valves.gas leaks are dangerous

It is good to know if your Maytag range can be converted to LP gas after all these years. Usually conversions should be done by qualified installers but it seems like you feel confident in doing this yourself, if it is possible. An expert will research and respond within two business day or sooner.
