When I start the machine it sounds like it's filling, but then it sounds funny & I open the door, but no water. Any ideas . Just bought it used & told ir works. Thanks, Pat.

I fixed it. As I stated I had it connected to the cold water side. When I connected to the the hot side, it worked. Everything is ok. Thanks to all that had input.

Thank you for your question.  i am sorry you are having a problem with your

Kenmore 587.14439200 Dishwasher

.   The circuit diagram for the water fill is shown in the image below.  The circuit consists of the timer, the float switch and the water valve.  Do not overlook the float.  If it is out of position then the dishwasher will not fill.  A no fill problem would normally mean there is no voltage from the timer or the water valve is bad.  Do you have a meter to check continuity of the valve or check voltage to the valve?  I hope this information helps.  You can reply below with any additional details for further assistance.
