How do I install a snow blade on my lawn tractor?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

I have a Craftsman lawn tractor, model 917.252522, and have picked up a Craftsman snow blade. I cannot read the whole model# on the snow blade but it starts with 486-24 and ends with 8. I cannot figure out how to mount the blade to the lawn mower and am looking for owners manual to help and to confirm if it is the right blade for my mower. Thanks

It sounds like the snow blade you have is not the correct one for your tractor.

For a 917.252522 the snow blade should be a 486-24441.

You can find the manual for the 486-24441 blade on Manage My Home to see how it would mount to your tractor. On the Home page, hold your mouse over the square labeled "HOME" in the upper left of the page and choose the option "Products and manuals" from the drop-down menu that appears.

Then enter the following in the "CATEGORY" listings:

CATEGORY "Gardening" PRODUCT "Snow Blade Attachment" BRAND "Craftsman" MODEL # "48624441"

Select "FIND MANUALS" and then scroll down to the search results and use the blue link under "DOCUMENTATION" to open the manual for viewing online.

You can save a copy of the manual to your Manage My Home profile or, on most computer systems, download or print the manual while you are viewing it.
