Water on the floor and a banging noise.

My water heater has a puddle underneath, can you please tell me what might be the cause?

I would check the water lines and pipe connectors at the top of the water heater for leaks. If these pipes and fittings were not leaking, check the relief valve on the side of the tank. The water tank itself could also be leaking onto the burner assembly.

I recommend that you have a service technician check your water heater in case there might be a tank warranty. I have added 3 pictures that may help in identifying the source of the leak.
