What type of freon does my refrigerator use?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

What kind of freon does it use?. Is this a Ecologic 134? I need a manufacture certificate to take it out of the country. The refrigerator is a Kenmore 106.57943700 and serial HRU0878890.

This unit uses a 134a type freon. There is a label on the compressor in the rear compartment with a data plate attached. This will have all the specifications on the sealed system of the refrigerator.

HFC134-A has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) factor of 0.0 and a global warming potential (GWP) factor of 0.27. It is not flammable and has acceptable toxicity levels.
