What does error code F6 mean on my Kenmore microwave?

I'm getting error code F6 on my Kenmore Microwave model 665.61622100. Please advise cause and replacement part number.

Actually, the 665 model number prefix means it's made by Whirlpool, and in their codes, the F6 is a failure of the door switches.



Try it while gently lifting up and alternately pushing down on the door / handle.



Diagnosing and replacing door switches in not too hard a job for a DIYer is you follow the safety rules.

The F6 error code is telling you a relay has stuck on the control board (called a microcomputer in the parts diagram). The part number for the control board is 8169708R for a rebuilt board with the same warranty as a new one. The price is around $85.00.
