How long do I need to charge the battery after using my electric-start mower? Leave it plugged in?

Craftsman Model No. 917.376480 power propelled, electric start lawn mower. Manual just says to "connect your battery charger to charge battery after each use." I just wanted to know how long you need to leave the charger plugged in? Or do you just leave it plugged in until you use the mower again?

The battery assembly used is a lead/acid type so it is not advised to leave it plugged in continuously as overcharging can reduce the overall battery life.

The recharger is a low amp style, however, and the mower does not maintain or increase the charge during use. So you should try to leave it plugged in for some time after use, but in most cases it is not recommended you leave it charging longer than 24 hours.
