Why won't my central air cool?

We have a Carrier Weathermaker 8000 heating/cooling unit. It will not cool and where is the filter.

To be able to tell you where the filter is located, I would need to know the furnace configuration, whether it is an upflow, down flow or horizontal, and if there unit is in a basement, attic or in a closet inside the structure. The filter will always be where the air is drawn into the unit before the coils.

In regards to the no cooling issue, the best option would be to have a qualified service technician troubleshoot and diagnose the problem. Again, there are too many variables.
