What does "Sd" mean on my washer?

The letters "sd" comes up after the cycle is finished washing. It's also not rinsing my clothes very well.

The "Sd" error code is an indication of Suds Lock (overdose of detergent detected during the wash cycle).

High Efficiency (HE) detergent is recommended which is a low sudsing detergent.

Note

: Using too much of the recommended HE detergent will also cause too many suds and cause "Sd".

I recommend not adding any detergent and rewash the clothes that did not rinse well. You will most likely see a lot of suds indicating that you are using too much or the wrong kind of detergent.
