How to repair my Maytag dryer with a tS fault code?

The manual calls it a temperature Sensor fault. The dryer won't start at all. The error won't clear. It's a Maytag Neptune model MDE9700AYW supposedly top of the line. It's only 2 years 3 months old, so just out of parts warranty.

The error code is actually a tS which indicates a shorted thermistor or the thermistor has a very low resistance.

First, check for a clogged lint filter screen, restricted venting system and then the thermistor would need to be tested with an ohm meter.

The thermistor should have a resistance reading of 10K ohms at 77 degrees. The thermistor and thermistor circuit can be measured from the control board. Disconnect the Red and Blue wires from the control board located next to each other at CN6 connector. You will need a volt/ohm meter to ohm the resistance across the Red and Blue wires. If the resistance does not measure 10,000 ohms at room temperature of near 77 degrees, replace the thermistor.

I added three (3) images with information and instructions.

Part#3500119 (thermistor) which is located on the blower housing.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.
