Why does my Craftsman garage door closes and then immediately reopen?

My Craftsman garage door opener model number 139.53985D is not working right. The door closes and then immediately reopens. I have made the adjustments to the limit and the force adjustments. Both of the sensors have good LED lights, when you operate the door. When you break the beam it reverses like it should. This garage door opener is only a year old.

Several possibilities can cause a garage door opener to reverse. You indicated that you made adjustments to the limits and the force adjustments. For safety reason, make sure the force adjustment is readjusted to mid range. Adjust the travel so the door stops about one foot above the floor. Now adjust the down travel until the door just closes.

Release the trolley and raise and lower the door manually. Will the door stay in place when the door is raised to the ½ way by hand? This will verify the door is adjusted properly for operation.

When you are closing the garage door, if the light on the motor housing flashes, you have a safety sensor issue. Check the sensor on the door frame, to see if the door mounts are twisting at that point causing the sensors to go out of alignment.
