How do I hook up the wires on the new heating element in my Kenmore dryer?

I have a Kenmore dryer model 110.60902990. I am not sure how to put the wires back on the new heating element. It has 6 wires but I do not know the proper way to attach them.

The wiring diagram for your dryer is shown in the first image below. The parts diagram for the heater box is also shown.

NOTE: Be sure to unplug the dryer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

According to the wiring diagram, the red/white wire from the operating thermostat (Key 42) is attached to the thermal cut-off (Key 47). A black wire is attached to the other terminal of the thermal cut-off. The same black wire attaches to one terminal of the high limit thermostat (Key 48). A red/white wire attaches to the other terminal of the high limit thermostat. The heater element will have the red/white wire from the high limit thermostat and a red wire from the motor switch attached to it. As long as the correct wires are attached to the leads on each component, it does not matter which wire is attached to which lead on an individual component.

If you are uncertain of the wiring configuration using this information, I recommend calling a service technician to wire up the heating element.

If you need more help with this problem, resubmit your question with additional details.
