How do I replace the bearing in my Kenmore washer?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

I have a Kenmore washer model number 11042922201. The drum bearing, or bushing makes loud noises especially in the spin cycle. I would like to replace it and I need to know how to take the unit apart and replace the bearing. I would also like to know the part number so I can order it.....Thank you.

The part number for the rear shell with bearing is 8181666 for $336.59 & the spin basket is 8181668 for $521.21. Please note that the spin basket has a lifetime warranty & the rear shell has a 10 year warranty. These parts would be covered under warranty & the customer is responsible for the labor. Please see the images provided for the service manual instructions for replacing the rear bearings.
