Why did my Kenmore built-in electric self-cleaning oven turn itself on and lock the door?

I have double ovens 42889 and 42881 that are about 20 years old. The problem began when electricity to the house was cutting on and off. I turned off the breaker to the oven for 2 hours hoping that it would reset itself. This did not help. It does not respond to the cancel button. The big problem is that there is a pannini maker in the oven. It doesn't appear to be heating but it is a concern that it will begin to heat and then it will create a big fire when that pannini maker starts to melt. It does continue make cycle noises.

The electrical power surge obviously affected the oven control, relay circuit board and the lock mechanism. The proper repair of this problem will require diagnosis by a service technician. I recommend shutting off the breaker to the oven and calling a service technician to repair the oven.
